Meet the river, meet the people

Nature Coast Dragon Boat Club — Moruya River

Come paddle with us!

The NCDBC is an inclusive sporting club that enhances health and fitness in a welcoming, friendly and enjoyable environment,

and provides a way to experience the beautiful Moruya River.

We see Dragon Boating as a team sport that accommodates people of varied ages, fitness levels and backgrounds.

Our club provides opportunities to paddle socially and competitively, including regattas and events within Australia and overseas.

We enable members to undertake a range of roles that contribute to the organisation and wellbeing of the club.

Our guiding principle is to encourage and support individual members to enjoy their paddling

and to achieve their potential through training and opportunities to compete.

Meet the river

We paddle from the boat ramp next to the Moruya War Memorial Swimming Pool on Shore Street.

The club has up to three boats available, and we paddle on the scenic and relatively sheltered Moruya River.

Dragon boating is a great way to discover the river, to explore its banks and meanders, up close and personal.

Paddlers enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the water, and the opportunity to observe the local wildlife.

Come and try at any time at our training sessions:

Saturdays 8.15 - 9.30 am

Tuesdays 5.15 - 6.30 pm

Thursdays 5.15 - 6.30 pm

There is no cost and no obligation to join until you have had 5 paddles and are comfortable that paddling is for you.

Come paddle on a Saturday morning and then relax and join us for a coffee afterwards, or visit the Moruya Markets.

Meet the people

The club welcomes all members over the age of 12 years.

We encourage team spirit and camaraderie..

As well as regular training, we hold social paddles to explore further aspects of the Moruya River.

Buddying next to someone in a boat is a great way to meet people.

Race the river

For those who like a more strenuous workout, the club also offers opportunity to train more competitively for regattas and events.

We have a number of coaches and seasoned competitors.

Races vary from 200 metres up to 8 kilometres.

You will be surprised how fit and strong you can get!
