Movies

I'm keeping track of how many "best" movies I've watched through a spreadsheet. Primarily, I hope to complete the 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die and the Criterion Collection, but I'll likely get a few other lists first. My spreadsheet is here on Google Sheets  [updated January 2026], if you want to use it yourself.

I generally rate movies 1-5

5: Excellent, well worth watching again and again

4: Pretty good

3: Average [general rating]

2: Pretty bad, but with some redeeming characteristics

1: Terrible; not worth watching ever again

For users of Criticker, I've created a small Greasemonkey script that adds Letterboxd, Wikipedia, and ICheckMovies links, as well as links to MovieChat and FilmBoards (which were based on the old IMDB boards).

Click here to download; you'll then have to drag the file onto your browser window to install it. Obviously, you must have Greasemonkey installed. I have not tested it with TamperMonkey or any of the other versions. No warranties, express or implied, and all that other legal stuff. [Updated July 2025]
