Dr. Naranchimeg (Nara) Mijid is currently working as a Financial Advisor at Bankers Life Securities and Bankers Life Advisory Services. She is an insurance agent with Bankers Life and Casualty, specializing on Medicare. Previously, she taught at Central Connecticut State University, Colorado State University, and Front Range Community College. She has nine years of teaching and research experience. She also worked as a contractor for the Kauffman Foundation, translating research studies to practice. She successfully run her own economic consultancy business, Connecticut Center for Innovative Entrepreneurs, LLC.
Nara Mijid received her Ph.D. in Economics from Colorado State University. Her dissertation is on "Gender, Race, and Credit Rationing of Small Businesses". She also possesses nine years of working experience in commercial banking.
She is a winner of the 2008 Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship Award and recipient of numerous research grants. Her research and teaching focus is on gender issues, small business financing, financial institutions, financial system, monetary policy, economics education, and online learning. Her work has been published in the Journal of Economics and Finance (JEF), International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship (IJGE), International Advances in Economic Research (IAER), Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (JSBE), Cogent Economics and Finance (CEF), Social Science Journal (SSJ), and Review of Social Economy (RSE).
