Dr. Naranchimeg (Nara) Mijid is business consultant and research scientist at the Connecticut Center for Innovative Entrepreneurs, LLC. Previously, she taught at Central Connecticut State University, Colorado State University, and Front Range Community College. She has nine years of teaching and research experience.
Nara Mijid received her Ph.D. in Economics from Colorado State University in 2009. Her dissertation is on "Gender, Race, and Credit Rationing of Small Businesses". She is the recipient of dual masters’ degrees in Economics and Finance from the University of Colorado at Denver (2001). She also possesses nine years of working experience in commercial banking.
She is a winner of the 2008 Kauffman Dissertation Fellowship Award and recipient of numerous research grants. Her research and teaching focus is on gender issues, small business financing, financial institutions, financial system, monetary policy, economics education and online learning. Her work has been published in the Journal of Economics and Finance (JEF), International Journal of Gender and Entrepreneurship (IJGE), International Advances in Economic Research (IAER), Journal of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (JSBE), Cogent Economics and Finance, Social Science Journal (SSJ), and Review of Social Economy (RSE).
