Welcome to my webpage!

I am Professor of Experimental Pragmatics at the Section of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge and Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge.

My focus is in the area of semantics and pragmatics, and in language learning by monolingual and bilingual children and adults. I am also interested in similarities and differences between neurotypical and neurodiverse people esp as regards language and cognition.

In the rest of this site you can find more about my research, the courses that I teach, and the topics I supervise.

If you are a parent of a bilingual child or a teacher or other professonial working with bilingual families, you might want to have a look at resources we have created at WeSpeakMulti, and the Cambridge Bilingualism Network

And if you are a secondary school student interested in Linguistics, do consider taking part in the annual Essay Prize competition hosted by Trinity College Cambridge.
