• Dr Somnath Bhattacharyya became the external academic board member of the doctoral program " Nanoscience and  Materials Technology" of the University of Cádiz, Spain in October 2018 for a period of 5 years.

• Ms Piu Rajak visited Prof. Christoph T. Koch's lab at Humbolt University, Berlin, during 14th-22 September 2017.

• Ms Piu Rajak has delivered an oral presentation at XVI International Conference on Electron Microscopy in Warsaw, Poland held during 10-13th September 2017.

• Ms Piu Rajak was the recipient of the EMSI scholarship titled International Microscopy Conference Participation for the year 2017. 

• Ms Piu Rajak has delivered an oral presentation at the International Conference on Electron Microscopy and Allied Techniques & XXXVIII Annual Meeting on the Electron Microscope Society of India (EMSI 2017) in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu during 17th -19th July 2017.

• Dr Somnath Bhattacharyya has delivered an invited talk and chaired the session 'Chemistry and Spectroscopic Technique' at the International Conference on Electron Microscopy and Allied Techniques & XXXVIII Annual Meeting on the Electron Microscope Society of India (EMSI 2017) in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu during 17th -19th July 2017.
