About Veda Pathasala

Our Pathasala was started by Maharanyam Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamigal (Founder of Namadwaar having branches all over the world to teach and propagate the essence of Bhagavatam) in the year 2002 at Thirunangur Divya Desam to teach Veda, Divya Prabhanda and agama for the improvement of the Vedic service rendered at Vaishnav Divyadesams.

It is located 10 Kms. from Sirkazhi near Chidambaram in TN, India. More than 15 out of 108 Divyadesams are situated in and around the Village with ruling deity Thirumangai Azhwar of Thiruvalli Thirunagari.

Vision of the Pathasala

Establish and run Vedic schools to primarily impart the Vedic knowledge along with scientific knowledge.

Prepare leaders for the society who can propagate the spiritual wisdom of the Vaishnav Sampradaya.

Promote socio-cultural,

Protect the environment and animal wealth, mainly cows and its progeny.

Mission of the Pathasala

Enrol limited students and teach them Veda, Divya Prabhanda, Vaishnav Agama  (Sri Pancharatra ) and Sastras (along with their commentaries and meanings).

Prepare the students for competitive exams held by reputed Vedic councils.

Teach conversational skills in Tamil, Sanskrit, English, and Sanskrit.

Teach Yoga , mathematics, astrology and vastu in addition to other subjects on the physical world (geography, history, physical sciences, and computer skills).

Provide free boarding for students.

Maintain a GoshAla (place for cows).

Recruit eminent Vedic scholars to live in the Gurukulam.

To Tailor short courses on Vedic recitation for the NRIs during the summer and winter breaks and provide accommodation in the Gurukulam allowing audio/video recording of the classes.

Mission accomplished so far:

Padasala started on, 2001 with 3 students and one Acharya.

Constructed buildings for classes and boarding including kitchen, electricity with Invertors, Telephone and internet, insurance, Well for Drinking water with RO facility, bore well at vegetable garden.

Maintaining a Library with good collection of Books related to Vedic, Pancharatra Agama, Divya Prabhanda, Sri Ramanuja Acharya Works (Sri Bhasyam, Gita Bhasyam etc.,), Stotras, and eminent Scholars Books.

Recruited 2 Acharyas to teach Veda,  1 Agama vadyar, 2 Divya Prabhanda, one Sanskrit teacher and 3 teachers for Languages and Maths,Science. 5 office personnel including manager, security, cooks, and other staff.

To accommodate more Students constructed New Two floor building with (Big hall in Ground floor and kitchen, dinning, and rooms for students in first floor) Named after Swami Sri Periyavachan Pillai  to conduct classes and boarding for Teachers and students

Obtain study materials, tables, clothes, toiletries, linen, and other miscellaneous expenditure for students (Rs. 3 Lakhs).

Salaries for 9 teachers including Vedic teachers, languages & sciences teachers (Rs. 24.7 Lakhs P.A)  and 5 office personnel including manager, security, cooks, Goshala and other cleaning staff (Rs. 18 Lakhs P.A).

Other annual maintenance expenditures including utilities, stationery, food, medicines, and contingency funds (Rs. 32 Lakhs).

Appeal for Support

Our Padasala was inaugurated on June, 2002 with 3 students and now running with 55 students for the academic year 2025.  Our Padasala runs with generous support of philanthropies  for  providing free education. The donations will be gratefully accepted.

Total costs for the year of operation add up to about Rs. 75 Lakhs.
