Naíonra Thomáis Dáibhís provides pre-school education through the medium of the Irish language in Mallow for the past 28 years and is affiliated to the Naíonraí Gaelacha and Forbairt Naíonraí Teo.

Baineann Naíonra Thomáis Dáibhís usáid as Sar Shaothar agus Aistear agus Síolta mar curaclam agus prionsabal sa Naíonra mar aon le clár bunaithe ar séasúir na bliana.

All sessions at Naíonra Thomáis Dáibhís incorporate Sar Shaothar and Aistear as curriculum and embracing the principles of Síolta. Our programme places the child as central, we embrace the child's world of play, and we theme our approach through the seasons and celebrations throughout the year. This is all through the early immersion method through the Irish language.

Cé mhéad seachtain atá sa bhliain scoil?

Tá 38 seachtain sa scoil bhliain don páistí atá páirteach sa scéim Luath Oideachas Saor agus dos na páistí atá táillí i gceist chomh maith.

There are 38 weeks in the School Year for children availing of the free pre-school year and also for the fee paying children who are attending on a part-time basis. A calendar of school openings and closings will be included in your beginning of year package.

Cad é an cóimhneas de leanaí do mhúinteoirí?

The ratio of children to teacher is 22:2. This is the current requirement under the pre-school regulations, that said Máire always ensures that each childs developmental needs are catered for. That often requires a change in ratio, ie.. an additional teacher per room or perhaps a lesser number

of children depending on the needs of the group.

Cad é polasaí iontrála Naíonra Thomáis Dáibhís?

As per our contract with the Department of Children and Youth Affairs ECCE Scheme children eligible for this scheme will be facilitated and then all other places filled, each year we make every effort to facilitate each child requesting a place either ECCE or part-time. A copy of our full enrolment policy has been circulated to parents and is always available on request.

Cén cáillíochtaí atá ag na Stiúrthoirí?

Your teacher will be a fully qualified trained Naíonra Stiúrthóir with the following qualifications: Dianchúrsa Forbairt Naíonraí Teo / FETAC 5/6/7/8 (degree level), Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) Ollscoil na hEireann Má Nuad and many other qualifications, ie.. Montessori Level 7, High Scope, Early years education cert UCC and with many years experience of working in the early years immersion setting of the Naíonra.
