Spring 2017

The Monster stayed in storage for the majority of the car season. We hadn’t taken the black ‘96 out at all in 2016, so we drove it this year. Not too much to report. I bought a set of used 6UL’s and put fresh rubber on them. They are the old school black with a polished lip. I really like that look on these cars.

It still has the 1.8l 4-banger in it, but otherwise it runs great. lol

Late fall of 2017 I got the Monster out for a few weeks before going back in for the winter.

Spring 2018

Got the Monster out early spring. Something I’ve been wanting to upgrade is the wheels. So I pulled the trigger on a new set of 6UL Limited’s. They are Beryllium with a polished lip. They are the perfect offset for a Miata. They fill the fender wells out nicely.

I got the car out to a couple lapping events in May, but unfortunately it had to go back into storage the first week of June as we are having major construction on our street all summer and the road will not be friendly to lowered vehicles. Between that and being majorly busy this summer, there wouldn’t be much Miata time anyways.

I decided my wife’s Jeep needed new shoes too. Going for a small lift and bumpers next year.

Next up is a fresh engine build from the bare block up, with all the "go-fast" goodies. Let's call it Version 2.
