I grew up playing a lot of games with my family. I come from a large family and we frequently played games like scrabble, monopoly, and acquire together. I enjoyed playing these games with my family. As I entered college, I could frequently be found with my friends in the lobby playing a wide variety of commonly known board/card games, but like most people stopped playing games very often once I entered the real world. However, this would all change during my time in the Navy. While on deployment, my husband was looking for something to do to get out of the house and discovered that the comic shop he frequented played a game called Magic:The Gathering. When I came home, he convinced me to give it a shot. At first, I wasn't very interested in playing a game with a bunch of guys, particularly on my Friday nights, but as a competitive person, I was soon won over with the idea of beating people every week. Not much longer after this, I was out of the Navy and we moved. Here, I discovered actual game stores devoted to playing various games and quickly found that a lot of people still played board games as adult, but they were much more challenging and complicated than the games I had played in younger years. It did not take me very long to find people that I enjoyed playing various games with. One of the things that I most enjoy is playing with new players and showing them new games. I hope that you'll look for me at Battlegrounds in Plainville!
