The Secunforths: Originally an Oeridian-Suloise family from the Duchy of Dorlin in the north of Keoland, the Secunforths are distantly related to the Neheli. They were appointed to rule the Viscounty in the late 5th century CY, by Tavish IV of the house of Rhola as one of many attempts to appease the growing power of the Neheli. They had hoped their exile to the miasmic lands of Keoland's southwestern coast would come to an end with control of the Lion Throne passing to their relations in 488 with the ascension of Nyhan IV, but it was not to be. Their mismanagement of the building of the eastern end of a series of forts along the edge of the Hool Marshes, as well as their failure to end a witch-hunt panic in the first years of the 500's did considerable harm to their standing in the Court of the Land. Considering the considerable losses in population during the Red Death Plague of that time, it is questionable how much the Secunforths could have done to prevent any of these misfortunes. Still, the blame was attached to them and has hung about their necks since, though things may be looking up for the backwater province with the stirring of conflict in the south.
The arms of the Secunforths are sable, a lion rampant or, armed and langued gules, a chief wavy or with three mullets sable.
