Background

I originally built My Daily Planner right before the start of my Junior year of high school after taking a class in Visual Basic programming the previous year. Back then the program was actually not even called My Daily Planner. It was just a simple program that I named 'TaskList' that would allow me to open and save 10 tasks that I had to accomplish. I was using (and still do use) Microsoft Outlook, but wanted a simpler program than the Tasks section in there. My original design was not very sophisticated and the text file used for saving had to be manually opened. Over the years I have looked up how to do different things and thus have greatly improved upon the original program. There have even been near complete rewrites of the program. After TaskList I changed the name to My Planner because it was not just a list of tasks anymore, as more functionality had been added. The final change to the name is the current 'My Daily Planner.' The next change came between the release of v5.5 in 2010 and v6.0 in 2013. The entire program was rewritten due to a change in language from Visual Basic to Visual C#. This also allowed for improvements to be made along the way to parts of the program that had not been worked on in a while.

My Daily Planner is a simple program that in its current form can keep track of 12 unlimited tasks. There are also sections for entering other general notes and a meetings list.

The current version of the program was been developed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (programming), Paint.NET (Icon/image creating/editing) and includes icons from the Fugue Icon set available here.

A full "installation" is not required to run My Daily Planner.

Just download the ZIP archive, extract the files, launch the Setup program and follow the steps to start using My Daily Planner.

A shortcut to the application file can be made to launch and use it or pinned to the taskbar (Windows 7/8).
