Michael W. Stiles has been serving as Theatre Director at Musselman High School since 1994. He holds a Masters of Arts Degree in directing from Roosevelt University, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in theatre and music education from Fairmont State University.
Mr. Stiles was West Virginia Theatre Teacher of the Year in 2005, a recipient of the 2007 Arch Coal Teacher Achievement Award, and recieved the Fairmont State University Theatre Educator Alumni Award in 2019.
Under his direction, Mr. Stiles' students have performed across the globe, from regional and state Thespian Festivals to the legendary Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland. Mr. Stiles is active in community theatre, having acted and directed in many theatres across the quad state area. His most memorable roles include: Mr. Nickles in “J.B.,” Charlie in “Shenandoah,” the voice of Audrey II in “Little Shop of Horrors,” and John Adams in “1776.” Michael is a member of the South Eastern Theatre Conference, and has served as the President of the West Virginia Theatre Conference and as the West Virginia State Thespian Chapter Director.
Aside from acting and directing, Mike is an avid science fiction fan, has been married to his loving wife Lori since 1995 and is the proud father of his toddler daughter Emma! Mike celebrates life every year being cancer free since 1997, and has been a Relay for Life Team Member.
