Professional Profile of Prof. Munassir Alhamami

Prof. Munassir Alhamami is a Full Professor and Vice Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Languages & Translation, King Khalid University, Saudi Arabia. He holds a Ph.D. in Second Language Studies from the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa, an M.A. in TESOL from Trinity Western University, and a B.A. in English (with honors) from King Khalid University. With an extensive academic background encompassing over 70 university courses related to language learning, use, analysis, research, and education, Prof. Alhamami specializes in language learner beliefs, multilingualism, and technology in language education.

He has published extensively on a range of topics within applied linguistics, including the efficacy of English as a medium of instruction, digital language learning, and the interplay of language and multilingualism in educational and healthcare settings. His professional contributions include editorial roles in several academic journals and active participation in international applied linguistics conferences. His leadership extends to the development of academic programs and the supervision of Ph.D. candidates.

Currently, he teaches applied linguistics courses at King Khalid University. His main academic interests include language learner beliefs, online language learning, English for specific purposes, multilingualism in Saudi Arabia, language of instruction, and mixed method research in applied linguistics.
