Annual Report 2018-19

Year 2018-19:

This year proved to be even better than the earlier ones with the project achieving many new milestones.

• 2 Big Donations: We received 2 donations Rs.10 Lac and above
• Aarti Industries Ltd. gave a donation of Rs.10 Lac in September 2018, when we were facing a big funding gap. This is the second time we have received their donation. We thank Shri. Rajendra Gogri, MD of Aarti Industries Ltd. and our own member Deepak Shah.
• Play Games 24X7 Pvt. Ltd. gave a donation of Rs.40,96,850/- in March 2019. We feel overwhelmed by the trust shown in VLS Project and Rotary Club of Mulund. We have accepted this huge donation with a sense of humble responsibility. We will make every effort to be true to their expectations. We thank the Company, its Directors and their CSR team led by Shri Malaykumar Shukla.
• CSR DONATION BY BANYAN TREE ADVISERS PVT. LTD.: Donation of Rs.3,25,000/- was received from Banyan Tree Advisers Pvt. Ltd. This is the fourth consecutive year of their donation. We sincerely thank Shri. Jigar Shah and other Directors of the company for their generosity. We look forward to their long term association with the project.
• Dr. Jayanti Lalka of Innerwheel Club of Mulund once again donated Rs.1,00,000/- for the Project. This is second consecutive year that we have received her donation. Thanks a lot Dr. Jayantiji.
• CSR DONATION BY ANI INTEGRATED SERVICES LTD.: Donation under CSR of Rs.50,000/- was received from Ani Integrated Services Ltd. We thank Rtn. Navin Korpe for the donation. We look forward to their long term association with the project.
• 8 Students completed their repayment during 2018-19.
• 222 STUDENTS: With addition of 53 New Students, total number of students zoomed, touching the figure of 222.
• FUNDING IN 2018-19 Crosses Rs.52 Lac: The gross Scholarship Disbursement in 2018-19 was Rs.52,35,554/- .
• The received forms were scrutinized and 115 Students were called for interviews on 19^th August 2018 at SMPR High School, Mulund. Lot of our members, including newly joined ones, participated in the interview process. As has become a standard practice, IPP Rajesh and Komal Gupta hosted the Scrutiny programme in their home!
• 56 Students were finally selected for receiving the scholarship at the cost of more than Rs.31,41,000/-. This was the first time that number of students selected crossed 50.
• Special thanks to Shri. Hemant Veera of Ashiqui Shoes, Mulund West for hosting the Form Collection Center.
• Our own member Rtn. Viren Gandhi has been providing help in organizing the utilization, which we provide to our CSR Donors as well as District officials. Viren and Pinakini also hosted the meeting to finalize the selection. Thanks Viren and Pinakini!

The students were handed over the Scholarships, during our club meeting on 23^rd September 2018. DG Shashikumar Sharma was the Chief Guest of the function.

A get together of all our VLS students was held on 23^rd June 2019. PDG Dr. Jayant Kulkarni was the Chief Guest. Our Charter Member R. Z. Shah and Ansuyaben had graciously provided the beautiful hall at their Marathon Monte Carlo building free of cost. The expenses of the get together were sponsored by one of our members, who wishes to remain anonymous. It was attended by many of our members. 8 VLS Students, who have completed their repayment were felicitated with a memento at the function.

The 3 year term of the present VLS Committee has come to an end. We, the Committee Members wish to express our sincere thanks to all the members of the Club for all the encouragement, help and support.
