Artistic Challenges

In 2013, we began quarterly artistic challenges, each with a different theme, recorded here for posterity. Join in the fun to see how everyone interprets each challenge. Here are some themes from recent years

2022 Challenges

  • WINTER theme - due in January 2022 - create something that speaks to you of Home-Holidays-Family

  • SPRING - For CNCH, create a 40-inch lanyard - an be handwoven, crocheted, knitted, macramed

2021 Challenges

  • SPRING - complete a bingo card for either spinning or a separate one for fiber projects

  • SUMMER - presented at September meeting

  • WINTER - see January 2022

2020 Challenges

  • SPRING - “Inspired by the Sea”

  • WINTER - "inspired by Autumn" - use a picture of fall colors as inspiration

2019 Challenges

  • SPRING - April - create at least one item to enter into the Silver Dollar Fair Fiber categories

  • SUMMER - "Watermelon"

  • WINTER - January 2019 - "Repurpose it!" or CNCH Tiny Purse contest - create a tiny purse/kit that fits inside a one quart baggie to hold emergency fiber supplies.

2018 Challenges

  • SPRING - April - "The Natural World" - for Guild gallery at the California Nut Festival Jungle vines, leaves, a felted river, river rocks, animals, nut trees, sea life - anything that goes with our waterfall and coral reef

2017 Challenges

  • SPRING - May - "Spring Into Action" - complete those items long in time-out or start something new from your stash or something long in planning.

  • WINTER - January - "Winter Elegance"

2016 Challenges

  • FALL - November - "Inspired by Nature"

  • SUMMER - September - "Summertime"

  • SPRING - May - "LACE- Laugh And Create Everything"

  • WINTER - January - "Winter Elegance"

2015 Challenges

  • AUTUMN - September - "Picnic"

  • SPRING - May - "Spring into Color" - an opportunity to explore your artist medium with color.

  • WINTER - January - "New Beginnings" - materials to be recycled or up-cycled; final product can be produced using any medium.

2014 Challenges

  • AUTUMN - September - what I did over the Summer - share whatever projects you worked on during the summer.
