I want to understand the origins of social inequalities and the policies that mitigate them.

My research combines primary and administrative data, economic theory and experiments to evaluate large-scale policies that have complex dynamic or equilibrium effects.

I won the 2019 UCL Provost's Education Award for outstanding contributions to education. During the 2020 pandemic, UCL students rated my teaching videos 4.5/5 (based on ~350 respondents). Read my interviews and blog post on teaching here, here, and here.
