News and Announcements

  • Director Update - 10/23/2016
On Saturday, 10/22, during our morning rehearsal, I spoke to the band students about how the day was going to be a test of their character, strength, and perseverance. I made these comments in regards to the weather; we were dealing with a very chilly morning and very windy conditions which were forecast to persist throughout the day. Little did I know at that time the day would in fact be a test of the entire band's character and strength - that we would have a true test of the team bonds that are built over the course of the band season.

I am in awe of our band students, parent chaperones, staff, and district administration. Everyone rallied together to ensure the safety and well being of everyone on our team. While there are clearly many bumps, bruises, and emotions from the bus accident, I personally feel incredibly blessed that there were no life threatening injuries and that every student received the medical attention they needed in a timely manner; I am overjoyed to know everyone is safe.

Every band has a moment throughout the season that forces it to look in the mirror and demonstrate who they really are on the inside. A moment where the life lessons learned from amazing parents, teachers, friends, mentors...and marching themselves. While this is not the test anyone should have to face, nor is it anything like the one I envisioned for this band, I could not be more proud of the way our students, parent chaperones, staff, and district administration handled the challenges we faced.

On Tuesday, at 6:00 PM, the band will have its regular beginning of the week team meeting in the High School Band Room. At that time, we will rally together to discuss the events of this weekend and allow all students to express their thoughts and feelings in preparation for the final showcase week of the season and senior week for the band. This will be a closed meeting, so that students feel comfortable sharing and can solidify the bonds that have been formed throughout this season. Following that meeting, students will move to the stadium and have a final rehearsal on the first half of the field show.

I would like to offer band parents the opportunity to visit with me personally at the conclusion of that student meeting. I will be available from the end of the student meeting (approx. 6:30) until 7:30 PM for individual family conversations. I want to know how your child is doing, physically and emotionally, so that I can work with you to ensure a positive end to the band season for your child. You may also contact me via email ( and phone (560-3097 x.7930) - I will respond to all messages in a timely fashion. Parents are a key component of the success of the band, and I am extremely thankful for the dozens of supportive calls, emails, and texts that I have already received.

My ultimate goal for the upcoming week is to help our band students to heal...and to be supremely prepared for the final major weekend of the marching band season. Working together, we can ensure that this season is memorable for all the right reasons.

    Humbly and respectfully,

    ~Mr. Scott Siegel

  • Bus Loop and Away Events
A friendly reminder to please keep the "Bus Loop" clear of all cars at pickup time from away travel events. For the safety of the students and vehicle drivers, we would like to keep the Bus Loop reserved for the buses and equipment trucks only, so that students may safely use that space to unload gear and cleanup before being dismissed to go home. Cars may park in the "Band Lot" (Lot A) for student pick up. Thank you for your cooperation!
