About Me

Hello. I hope to be able to teach kids about History and help students discover a love of the past as I have. The purpose of this website is to give people a feel for who I am and why I am pursuing a degree in Social Studies Education. I love History and Geography the most of the Social Studies disciplines. It is important to be role models for our students inside and outside the classroom. I appreciate and welcome different ways to teach to change things up from traditional lecturing. A structured classroom and good expectations are key aspects of consistent classroom management. While teaching with standards and state tests in mind is important, it is great to try and engage students using choice whenever possible. The service of students is the most important thing that we as teachers are entrusted to do. I want to help where I can. I love school districts that support academics as equally as they do their sports. A little about my life outside of teaching - I love to go fishing and hunting, and as soon as the ground isn't frozen I like to dig up the dirt and garden.
