The following are guidelines and questions to think about for your Results section. Write in complete sentences.
State in complete sentences the average density of each metal, the % error of each average density compared to the known value, and the identity of each metal that we agreed upon as a class.
The following are guidelines and questions to think about for your Conclusion section. Write in complete sentences.
Part A. What concepts are important in this lab? Employ all five vocabulary words from the background information in your explanation (mass, volume, density etc). In your own words, state what density is. Does density change when the size of the object changes? Is density an extensive or intensive property?
Part B/Error. What were the possible sources of error in this lab? To what decimal place does the graduate cylinder measure? Was the meniscus difficult to measure given the graduated cylinders were a cloudy plastic material? Was it possible there were impurities in the metal samples? What would this do to the calculated density? Which metal had the greatest % error? What explains this large % error?
