"You cannot push anyone up the ladder unless he is willing to climb." -Andrew Carnegie
2022-2023 begins my 24th year of teaching and my 18th year in the Farmingdale School District. After directing the Woodward Parkway Elementary Orchestras, the Howitt Middle School 8th Grade, and Chamber Orchestras, I am now the Farmingdale High School String, Symphony, and Chamber Orchestra Director. In addition, I'm co-advisor for Farmingdale High School's Chapter 2346 Tri-M Music Honor Society, where we have over 80 student-musician inductees.
At the beginning of my career, I had the privilege of beginning an orchestra program for grades 3-6 in an elementary district. I have taught grades k-12, general music, vocal coaching, music theory, orchestral lessons, and rehearsals. I have directed hundreds of concerts and have had thousands of students over the years.
I began playing piano at the age of two. At that point, my parents recognized the need to foster my musical ability. I was introduced to the violin in elementary school and found my creative self. At 14, I began rigorous training at Manhattan School of Music, allowing me to embark on a life-long journey through which I continue to learn, perform, and compose.
I aspire to share my passion for music, composition, and the performing arts with as many students as possible. I want to instill the same passion for music and love of learning within my students. I hope this may be the beginning of unleashing the inner talent within you and exposing you to the vast amount of musical literature and history available.
I hope that through this musical journey, you will discover all that you can be; realize your creative self; feel proud to be a part of something great; see the limitless potential in all that music has to offer and in all that you do!
