I graduated Cum Laude from Florida International University in 2002 with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and ESL. I was on the Dean’s List each semester and was a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society as well as the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. After completing my bachelor's degree I was immediately hired as a Kindergarten teacher at Kendale Elementary in 2002 and taught Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade for 19 years. For 16 years I was the school’s Future Educator’s of America Club Sponsor and in 2018, I was selected as Univision’s “Un Maestro Especial”. In February 2022, I was hired as an Information Technology at my district's Technology Center where I train district employees on a variety of Information Systems.

Currently, I am enrolled in the University of Florida's Teacher Leadership for School Improvement Program. I am working towards a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Educational Technology. I am beginning my coursework with “Distance Teaching and Learning” and “Blended Learning Environments”. On my free time I enjoy making jewelry for my online business Lulas Jewels as well as spending time with my nieces and nephew.
