Welcome to Origami!

Origami is a traditional Japanese art of paper folding. It uses many techniques and various objects can be created. The object is made of origami paper, which is specially made for folding and staying in shape. The most common origami figure is the crane, which is a type of bird.

Below you will find a variety of videos showing you how to do various origami projects. Your goal is to complete one origami project by the end of the period. You can use markers to decorate your project when you are finished. Be sure to get headphones so you can hear the directions and not disrupt your classmates.

Don't get discouraged if you struggle - Ms. K tried to do this all the time as a kid and always messed it up! It's like any other skill - you need to practice before you can be good at it! So keep at it and by the end you'll be an origami expert!
