My name is Mrs. Locascio (formerly Ms. Kaplan) and this school year marks my 17th year of teaching! This school year also marks my first year at View Park Prep High School.
Before joining View Park HS, I taught 6th grade at a middle school in LAUSD and a charter school in Los Angeles. Prior to that, I volunteered at two different schools while completing my B.A. at San Francisco State University. I graduated from SFSU in 2004 with honors and a degree in Child & Adolescent Development, with a focus on school-age children (K-8) & their families.
In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering with Southern California Bulldog Rescue. Saving dogs is my biggest passion outside of teaching! For fun, I love going to Disneyland and the beach.
Mission Statement
My mission as teacher is to inspire you to be the most successful student that you can be. I believe that all of you have great potential and it is my job as a teacher to nurture that potential. We will learn together as a class from each other and ourselves. It is my goal for you to be the best that you can be, not only in the classroom but at home and in your community as well. Through the safe and respectful environment that we create, we can all achieve these goals together. It can be done and we WILL do it.
