About Me

While teaching is my calling, I make time outside of work for other pursuits. My zen time is spent trail running, no matter the season, and in summer my runs can take up to a full day in the mountains. My passion for running led me to start coaching cross country at Alameda International HS in the 2013-14 school year, and I continued coaching cross country at Lakewood HS. In winter I love telemark skiing, especially in the backcountry. When I'm tired from a day outside, I practice classical piano, read, knit, or crochet. An avid cook, I sometimes am the target of jealous stares at the lunch table. I have lived in Japan and Italy, and have studied Spanish, Italian, and Japanese, although I only find use for Spanish in Colorado.
