AP Environmental Science!

4/11: To help me with planning, please fill out this form if you are taking any AP classes this year. Since all of you have at least this one, everyone will need to fill this out :)

4/24: I received this in an email and wanted to pass this awesome free, summer opportunity at UNC-Chapel Hill along.

Engagement and Action Program (Energy LEAP).  Energy LEAP is a FREE, week-long summer institute for rising 9th-12th graders that takes place on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill. During this program students conduct hands-on and minds-on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities.  Students will examine society’s current use of energy and the technological solutions that will support a secure energy future.

This is a FREE Program, and students who are selected will receive a $ for attending. The deadline for applications is 11:59 PM on Friday, April 24, 2023.  Information was sent by Mr. Slusser on ParentSquare. More information, including program eligibility and applications are available on our website: http://ie.unc.edu/energyleap/

3/24: Here's the link to upload your lab into.  It is fine to upload a Google doc. I want you to become familiar with writing quality lab reports. If you prefer to hand write or use a program, I'm cool either way, just as long as you are creating all of the sections we described in class.

3/13: Test on pollution unit this Friday! Details on the pollution unit page.

1/2 & 1/3: Happy New Year! I hope your break was awesome! We are starting the new year with land and water use. Details on the new page. Thursday and Friday will not be flex days. We will be meeting all seven periods both days.

Welcome to APES!

2023 - 2024

9/10: The grading for APES this year is as follows:

FlinnSafetyContract.pdf

Supplies that you will need for APES include a composition notebook, glue sticks,  and a dark pen or pencil. A few times, you will also need a ruler, clear tape, protractor, compass and colored pencils. Many families will donate packages of glue sticks, colored pencils, facial tissues and/or clear tape to the classroom for everyone's use. Thank you!! A graphing composition is best as you'll create tables (from our labs) in your book, but any composition notebook should be fine.

My office hours are Monday and Thursday morning, 8:15 to 8:45am in room 109.
