My research focuses on the role of universities as vehicles for the development of regional innovation systems.

My interests include:

• The ‘re-missioning’ of universities
• Their adaptation to changing societal needs
• The differences in university’s internal organization and capacities to fulfil their missions and to be influential actors in regional development
• Researchers’ motivations to engage in interactions with socioeconomic environment beyond publishing scientific articles
