Attempt to complete work ahead of time for anticipated absences.
1 day missed = 2 days to make up work, not to exceed 10 days.
Tests/quizzes need to be made up ASAP, after 10 days it become an F unless discussed prior.
Tardiness: Be in the room before the bell rings. Get a pass if you know you are going to be late.
Grading: Course work is weighted: 20% daily work/labs/quizzes, 80% tests.
100 - 93% A 77 – 73% C
92 – 90% A- 72 – 70% C-
89 – 88% B+ 69 – 68% D+
87 – 83% B 67 – 63% D
82 – 80% B- 62 – 60% D-
79 – 78% C+ 59 – 0% F
Course Work:
All course work assigned is due at the beginning of the class period unless other arrangements have been made.
One point will be deducted from assignments lacking a name.
All questions requiring written answers must be legible. Illegible answers will result in loss of credit for the question.
All chapter assignments, quizzes, and labs must be completed prior to taking a chapter exam in order to receive credit.
Section Quizzes and Chapter Exams
Proficiency ( ≥ 69.5%, C-) of section and chapter content is shown by score results.
Section quizzes that do not exhibit proficiency can be retaken. Retakes are not identical to the original quiz. The highest score, initial quiz or retake quiz, will be given.
Chapter exams with scores less than 69.5% can be retaken. In order to retake an exam, all chapter assignments, labs and quizzes must be completed. Students are guaranteed the average of the initial exam score and the retake; changes to this will be at the discretion of the teacher.
Lab Behavior
Lab exercises will be used as much as possible to solidify taught concepts.
Misbehavior will not be tolerated during lab activities. Misbehaving during lab will result in removal from the activity and a score of zero.
Appropriate lab behavior will be discussed in class prior to activities.
Students responsible for any items broke worth over $1.00.
Electronics: Cell Phones/iPods/iPads/Chrome Books/Laptops/Headphones but not limited to… Electronics are not to be out during classroom discussion or work time. Electronics in use during restricted times will be taken, refer to student hand book.
