Click on any of images below for links to websites that offer free audiobooks and e-books. While listening to audiobooks has many benefits, I recommend that you follow along with the text version while listening to the audio version. Enjoy!
If you do not already have a public library card, I strongly recommend you get one. If you are under age 16, you will need a parent or guardian present. You can even apply for your library card online! The library card is FREE and offers many free resources, which you can learn more about by clicking on the image to follow the link.
Hoopla offers free audiobooks, e-books, & movies with a public library card. You can create a free Hoopla account with your public library card, and it is also available as an app in both iTunes and Google Play.
Lit2Go offers hundreds of free audiobooks and accompanying text (you can read along while you listen). Also, each audiobook can be downloaded--FREE! This website has an easy-to-use search feature, and it provides the readability level, word count, and additional background information for each book. The Lit2Go app is available in iTunes, but it is not available for Android devices.
Click on the icon above to download the app. After you have downloaded this app, you can create an account using your CCPS student account. Use your 8-digit student ID number @yourcharlotteschools.net (88######@yourcharlotteschools.net) for your email address and create a password.
OverDrive offers free audio books, e-books, & videos with your CCPS account information. The OverDrive app is available for both Apple and Android devices.
Esl-bits is a website designed especially for English language learners. It has a variety of audiobooks with the text. Readers can also adjust the speed of the audio to enhance comprehension and ability to follow along. There is no app, but you can still search the website on your device to listen to audiobooks and read eBooks for free.
Loyal Books offers more than 7,000 free public domain audiobooks & e-book downloads (many available in multiple languages).
LibriVox offers a large variety of genres of free public domain audiobooks (downloadable) and links to free online text for each book. LibriVox is also available as a downloadable app in both iTunes and Google Play .
Cloud Library allows users to read eBooks and listen to audiobooks for FREE. You just need to create a free account using your public library card. Cloud Library is also available as a downloadable app in both iTunes and Google Play.
