5th Grade Showcase

Every year, we have a special performance just for 5th Graders. It is called the “Fifth Grade Showcase: A Celebration of Music at South Elementary”.  It is a capstone presentation of what students have learned in music classes while at South. So many things go into being a musician, like learning how to match pitch and becoming beat competent, being able to hear and identify changes in tonality and meter, and eventually making independent musical choices and being able to express oneself through music. Providing students with a solid foundation of music in their youngest years is crucial to their overall development as human beings. We can be proud that South Elementary values that foundation.
