Geometry Description
Topics covered in this course consist of both plane and solid geometry. The course includes a study of points, lines, and planes and their relationships. Materials:
All class materials will be provided but the following things would be greatly appreciated to add to our class set.
Pencils
Lined paper
Graph Paper
Highlighters
Colored pencils
Grading Percentages: Daily Grades (40%), Test Grades (40%), Nine Weeks Exam (20%)
Cell Phones:
Upon entering the room, students will grab a calculator and place all electronics in the pocket including cell phone, smart watch, and earbuds. If a student refuses to do so, the principal will be notified and the parent/guardian will be asked to pick up the student immediately. During the last five minutes of class, each student will be allowed to retrieve their electronics and return the calculator.
Leaving the Room:
If a student needs to leave for any reason, they will need to get a pass from Mrs. Hurley. Students will be monitored on how many times they leave the room. They should not be leaving the room more than once a week. They will not be allowed to leave the first or last 5 minutes of class or during instruction time. Students who are gone more than 10 minutes will be required to make up for lost time during lunch.
Expectations:
Follow all rules as outlined in the student handbook.
Be respectful of other students and teachers and materials provided to students.
Be a responsible person and student:
Be prepared for class: this includes swapping your calculator and grabbing necessary materials.
Clean up after yourself: put your materials designated bins and throw all trash away.
No Cheating. (Please ask if you do not understand something.)
Actively participate in class. (Take notes, complete work, participate in group activities.)
