1. How can I contact the teacher?

There are several ways to contact me. One way is through a written note sent with your student. Another is to call the school office and leave a message for me to return your call. Also, you can contact me through my email address. It is dhummel@saintagnes.us

2. Will my child be learning to read in kindergarten?

The answer is "yes". The children will be learning reading skills and practicing them but they will need to continue practicing every night with their "words". I tell them all the time that practice makes perfect!

3. What is this writing stuff?

The new Illinois Core Standards require that kindergarten students be taught writing along with reading. I will be using several techniques to make this a fun learning process.

4. What day(s) is gym?

Kindergarten has P.E. on Tuesday and Friday . They wear their gym uniform all day. Please make sure that they are dressed for the weather as they do go out for gym on some occasions. They will need sweatpants and a sweatshirt.
