Reminders

These are some reminders, tips, and information for starting 6th grade!

  • Please bring your charged iPad on the first day of school and every day after that!

  • Even though we will be doing most of our work on the iPad, any longer writing assignment will be completed with paper and pencil. Please bring a pencil to class each day. You can keep this in your pencil pouch, which will be distributed the first day of school. Students DO NOT need any other supplies for 6th grade English or 6th grade physical science.

  • We will be practicing Schoology a lot the first few weeks of school. It will be helpful if you student explores the LMS themselves, including the completion of the Student Overview. Also, we will be utilizing the Microsoft OneDrive. Students can go to outlook.sasd.us to practice logging in. This will be the same username and password used for Schoology.

  • Helpful Hint: Opening a locker the first week of school can be stressful. It can be helpful to purchase a combination lock to practice using a combination and lock.

  • Please have your student complete the "Get to Know You Survey" form by Friday, September 4th. Families: please complete the Virtual Back to School night form even if you were not able to attend by Friday, September 4th.

  • Please return any required digital or paper forms to school by the published due dates.

  • We will be following all school district Covid 19 guidelines in our classroom. Please refer to the Covid 19 Back to School Packet for more information.

  • Be sure to check PowerSchool to view student grades.

  • Students should be using the calendar on Schoology to stay informed of assignment due dates. I will also post announcements and send class messages to remind students and families of important reminders.

  • Absent: Students are responsible for making up assignments. Students should use the virtual classroom on Schoology to find out what assignments were missed and to copy any notebook slides that were completed.
