My name is Mrs. Heasley and I have been teaching full-time for the Franklin Area School District since 1993.
I earned a BS in Elementary Education and a BS in Early Childhood Education and Development from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 1990. I continued my education earning my MEd in Early Childhood Education from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in 1996.
I hold PA teaching certifications in both Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education.
The majority of my teaching career with FASD, has been in Kindergarten and first grade, although I also enjoyed 5 years teaching 6th grade.
I have lived in the 16323 zip code since I was born. I am a mom of 5 boys and a wife of over 25 years. My family has a long-standing history of teaching. My Grandmother, Olive Miller, was one of the original teachers at Victory Elementary, after teaching in a one room school house, as my Great Grandmother did before her.
I enjoy spending time with my family which includes my grandson, reading and learning new things. I have spent more than my share of time at sporting events, music performances, and robotics competitions supporting my children. I am a very proud mom and soon will have a second grandson!
I look forward to getting to know my students each year. The challenge of learning to read and understand basic numeracy fills our days, as we work together. I never forget my students are children and need hands-on activities and play throughout the day.
