About Me

Get to Know Mrs. Fitzgerald:

Mrs. Fitz grew up in Ramsey, NJ and spent every summer in Ocean Grove, NJ. She attended the University of Delaware and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Middle School Mathematics Education. She then attended Montclair State University as a graduate student and earned a Master of Arts degree in Middle Grades Mathematics. Mrs. Fitz absolutely LOVES the beach, which is why she moved here 15 years ago. She started teaching at Memorial Middle School in the fall of 2004 and has loved every minute of it! Mrs. Fitz also completed the supervisor certification program in 2018 at Georgian Court University. She directs musicals in the summer for kids ages 8 - 15 through OGCMA Youth Dramatics in Ocean Grove, NJ. Mrs. Fitz loves music, especially Broadway musicals! Mrs. Fitz and her husband (who attended Point Pleasant Beach High School) have a daughter, Katie, who is 10 years old and a son, Jack, who is 6 years old.

Fun Facts:

1) Mrs. Fitz ran the Philadelphia Marathon in 1999 with her dad.

2) Mrs. Fitz is a Red Sox and Notre Dame football fan.

3) Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Keelan, and Mrs. Fitzgerald were on the same team when they ran in the Jersey Shore Relay Marathon in April 2010.

4) Mrs. Fitz has directed the Children's Show (musical for kids age 8 - 15) in Ocean Grove, NJ for 19 summers.

5) Mrs. Fitz and Mrs. Turner performed in a Christmas musical together in December 2010 and December 2011 in Ocean Grove, NJ. Mrs. Fitz sings and Mrs. Turner is an amazing dancer!

6) Mrs. Fitz is a 2017 and 2019 NJ state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching.
