Reassessment Policy

Mastery takes time and practice. Therefore, the math department offers reassessments on all Chapter Tests.

Criteria to Reassess

1. Any test may be retaken. That means you can retake a failed test to pass, or you can retake a B to get an A!

2. The new score on the reassessed standards will replace the previous score.

3. In order to re-assess, you must have completed all of the homework assignments from that chapter before the first time you take the original assessment.

4. Students will meet with me outside of class to go over the original test. Additional practice will be assigned at this point before reassessment can be done. At this point I’ll assign whatever is necessary to ensure you do well on the reassessment.

5. After you have completed that extra practice, if you need more problems and more help, we will continue to work on those concepts. If you are ready to reassess, you pick a time before or after school, and retake the test.

Deadlines for Reassessments

1. Students need initiate the reassessment process within one week of the original assessment being handed back.

2. Reassessments from the first half of the quarter must be completed before grades are posted at mid-term.

3. Reassessments from the second half of the quarter must be completed by the Friday before Finals Week.
