If you want your coffee table to appear in:
a living room
beach house
modern apartment
scenic background
…you can place an image behind the model.
If needed:
press Tab
Press:
Shift + A
Choose:
Image → Reference
(or sometimes “Background”)
Pick a photo from your computer.
Good examples:
modern living room
studio backdrop
interior design photo
Press:
G
Move it behind the model.
Press:
S
Make it larger until it fills the view behind your table.
This will create:
a floor
a background wall
lighting
a camera
a clean render setup for your coffee table
Open your coffee table project.
Save a backup copy first: - don't use your only copy for this unit you KNOW it works! :)
File → Save As
Press:
Shift + A
Choose:
Mesh → Plane
A flat square appears.
Press:
S
Then type:
10
Press:
Enter
Now your floor is large.
With the plane selected:
Press:
Tab
At the top-left of Blender:
choose Edge Select
(or press 2)
Click the BACK edge of the plane.
Press:
E
Then:
Z
Move mouse upward and click.
Now you have:
floor
wall backdrop
Like a photo studio.
Select the bottom edge where wall meets floor.
Press:
Ctrl + B
Move mouse slightly.
Scroll mouse wheel upward a few times.
Click.
Now the corner becomes curved and softer.
Press:
Tab
to leave Edit Mode.
Click:
Material Properties
(the red sphere icon)
Click:
New
Choose a color:
light gray
beige
off white
Modern furniture renders usually use neutral colors.
Press:
Shift + A
Choose:
Light → Area
Press:
G
Then:
Z
Move upward.
Place it:
above
slightly in front of table
With light selected:
go to Light Properties
(green light bulb icon)
Set:
Power = 3000 to 5000
Press:
Shift + A
Choose:
Camera
Press:
Numpad 0
Press:
G
to move
Press:
R
to rotate
Good angle:
slightly low
diagonal view
not perfectly straight-on
On right side:
click Render Properties
(camera icon)
Change:
Render Engine → Cycles
OR use:
Eevee
if computer is slower.
Press:
F12
Blender renders the image.
