Bio
This is my family. My daughter Reese, my wife Lauren, and I love Hawaii! My wife and I are teachers. Mrs. LeMaster teaches elementary school in the Poway School District.
This is my 16th year as a classroom teacher. I taught high school English and ELD for eleven years and middle school English Language Arts for five years. Currently, I am the ELD Coordinator at Oak Valley Middle School. Previously, I was an AVID Coordinator and AVID teacher for ten years. In addition to my secondary experience, I have taught post-secondary (college) at San Diego State University. I have also published ten teacher books that focus on best teaching practices and academic literacy.
In 2001 I earned a Bachelor's degree in English, and in 2006 I earned a Master's degree in Rhetoric and Writing.
Mission Statement
I believe that every student can learn the skills necessary to perform well on secondary and post-secondary reading and writing tasks. If we challenge students and make a real effort to support their learning, they will develop into confident, capable students who will reach high levels of success.
