Quarter 1
For Quarter #1, your extra credit assignment will involve reading one booklet of your choice from the selection that is displayed on the west wall in my classroom. These pamphlets are Catholic perspectives on the relationship between Church and State, and were submitted by Fr. Keith Streifel.
For extra credit, you must do the following:
1) Take a booklet from the selection in Mr. Fong's classroom and return it when you're done
2) Read the booklet during Wednesday reading time in Mr. Fong's room and in at least one other class period. (You'll need a minimum of 40 minutes to complete the reading)
3) Email a reflection on the booklet to Father Keith Streifel and send a carbon copy to Mr. Fong

1) Thank Father Keith Streifel for loaning the booklets to our school
2) Explain why you chose this particular booklet
3) Discuss at least three main points in the booklet.
You may also choose to discuss how the ideas in this booklet apply to our current times, or you may mention anything that was confusing to you and needs clarification.

Alternate assignment:
The booklets are a challenging read. After reading for two class periods, if you are unable to summarize three main points from the reading, you may write to Father Keith, tell him that you struggled with the reading, and focus on one of these segments from Bishop Robert Barron instead.
