Using Dropbox

For teachers and students using 1-to-1 laptops, Dropbox provides a minimum of 2 GB of online storage, with data that is replicated on one or more computers. Add the Dropbox software on a school laptop, and on a home computer, and the files will be automatically synchronized, when using the same email account.

You may share folders with other Dropbox users, and also use the Public Folder to share individual files. Use the Dropbox folder to store works in progress. For those documents that you want to link to your showcase portfolio, move them into your Public Folder. Here is a view of my Public folder on the dropbox.com website:

Click the down arrow to reveal various options for that file. If you select Copy Public link, the following window will open:

Click Copy to clipboard and you can use that document in any way you would use a web page link. You need to copy each document URL individually. You can also organize files in the Public Folder in sub-folders, but cannot get a link for that sub-folder, just individual files inside.
