Materials
Teacher will procure necessary books, notebooks, flashcards, etc. payment for materials will be due with the next month's lesson fees.
All students need to consistently bring to their weekly lesson;
*Piano lesson books (provided)
*A three-ring binder (1-2 inch width)
In certain cases students will need to bring flash cards, theory and/or technique books. Please check your weekly assignment for additional materials.
Practicing
All piano and voice students are expected to consistently practice. Depending on age and level students will map out time in their daily schedule to practice technique, theory, lessons, skills and memorizing. All assignments (weekly practicing break-downs) will be assigned during the students weekly lesson. However, it is the students (and parents) responsibility to practice. Consistent practice will result in the students continual music growth and ultimately the student will feel successful, building a life long cultivation of music.
For young students parents are encouraged to attend weekly lessons with the teacher.
Scheduling
Teacher and student will schedule a mutually acceptable lesson time, generally Monday through Thursday between 2 pm and 6pm.
Lessons during the summer are optional with prior arrangements. Summer lesson times might be available in the mornings.
Lesson fees are due at the first lesson of the month.
As consistent practice is necessary for growth so is a consistent teacher-student lesson time. Students are expected to attend every scheduled lesson, and will be billed accordingly.
Cancellation Policy
If a student misses a lesson or is half of the lesson time late without proper notice of at least 24 hours then the lesson will not be made up, and it will be billed to you as a regular lesson charge.
(Sudden, unpredictable situations will be taken into account as necessary.)
Only unscheduled teacher cancellations will be credited to a student account; no refunds.
OMTA Syllabus
Jakki Moses is a member of OMTA. Not all students will follow the OMTA Piano Syllabus or attend OMTA events but it is encouraged, depending on student.
