End of the Year BBQ 2019

https://vermontjournal.com/school-news/mount-holly-ptsa-reinstates-end-of-the-year-bbq/

MOUNT HOLLY, Vt. – The Mount Holly Parent Teacher Association hosted an end of the year barbecue on the last day of school June 12, 2019. The event started right after the sixth grade versus teachers basketball game. The game was highly competitive but ended in the teachers winning.

The barbecue featured North Country SmokeHouse Hot Dogs purchased by Mojo’s Cafe. Mojo’s heard of the barbecue and wanted to throw in some funds to help support the purchase of quality hot dogs. The PTSA also purchased lemonade, chips, clementines, and buns. Parents brought in salads and treats including many recipe worthy items. In particular, a taco salad by Stacey Blake had the gossip train going, praising the combination of flavor and delight in the dish.

The Mount Holly Fire Department brought up two trucks and allowed groups of students to tour the vehicles and try on suits. Students, families, and staff spent the beautiful 75-degree day on the playground united with happy hot dogs, great memories, and a sense of accomplishment along with optimistic hope for the future of all the students.

Megan and Andrea - Working that Mount Holly PTSA magic

Halloween Party 2018

Thank you to everyone who came together to organize this event. Megan was the sub-comittee chair who handled this event being transferred from a Mount Holly Community Association event, to a PTSA event this year. Morgan was so helpful in passing the torch, providing us invaluable information and tips along with designing the poster. Andrea Auld created the custom house markers to identify the houses, Emma provided us with a document that can be shared with future organizers of houses and contacted all the treat homes! Andrea and Leisa set up tables and Gail provided us with waiver forms and glow sticks. This was a true team effort and a great sign of things to come for this excellent team! Thank you also to Tim Martin and Brian Buffum of the Mount Holly Volunteer Fire Department for the tractor for the hay ride. Also a big thanks to the MHCA and to our prize donors, Belmont General Store, Green Mountain Sugar House and Mojos. And a HUGE thank you to everone who came and to everyone who donated their home and candy for the fun of the community!

Cider Days 2018-2019

We had a great year and raised $2761 after expenses including materials for the bowls and cups and bowls purchased from the Belmont Store.

Thank you to all the parents who contributed soups and their time to the event.

Special thanks to new board member our treasurer Gail Campopiano for her personal donation of hair feathers which were a fun addition! And to Tamara for washing all those crock pots, that is quite the chore - she was the head of the sub-comittee for Cider Days and organized the entire event including coordinating with all parents to get soups and the stands manpower. And thank you to Morgan for her help in setting up and coffee as well. Thank you to Morgan & Yanu for creating the custom bowl display that will be cherished for years to come! Many other parents were instrumental and we thank them all!

Dear Community,

Our Souper Kids and all the volunteers did a super job this year

at Cider Days! We really appreciate all the support

we received this weekend. It really is a group effort to make Cider

Days a success. We would like to send out a "THANK YOU," to all

the Mount Holly students, teachers, administration and the Mount

Holly's volunteers and the Mount Holly Community Association. Plus

another huge "THANK YOU," to all the extended families and friends

who support and volunteered their time and supplies to this event. It

was a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Tamara Pachla

Cider Days 2016!

This year was a huge success!

Saturday we made $2542

Sunday we made $1016.45

Subtract the cost of bowls and we raised..... $3172.45!!!!

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers! We couldn't have had such success without you!

Cider Days is a special event here in Mount Holly, and the PTSA was keen to find a way for the school to have a presence there. Thanks to the creativity of Art Teacher Penny Coldwell, the enthusiasm of the school, and the enormous generosity of the Mount Holly Community Association, we came up with a brilliant idea, marvelously executed by all involved: we decided to sell homemade soup in ceramic bowls decorated by our students. The kids really think long and hard about their designs, and do an absolutely beautiful job.

The bowls are GORGEOUS!

Families and various grades from the school make soups - chowders, bisques, chilis, vegetable soups - all of which are incredibly delicious. We will also be serving coffee this year and have a face-painting station!

Movie Night

Polar Express 2018

Thank you to everyone who came together to organize this event. Andrea Auld was the sub-comittee chair who handled this event. She did an amazing job not leaving any detail behind! We were so lucky to have her dedicated hand crafting bell ornaments for families and gathering sweets and pizza to serve! What a great night! Surely to become an annual tradition in this great town.
