MDE Education Fund

Dear MDE families,

It is hard to believe the school year is upon us again! It is always fun to watch our little ones reach new milestones in these years of rapid development.

As the MDE PFC Fundraising Chair, I am writing you to first thank you for your continued financial contribution to the school. Last year, we raised enough money to fund key academic initiatives in the form of educational staff, programs, technology, and support.

Forty percent (40%) of our funding comes from direct contributions at Walk Thru (known as Education or “Ed” Fund). Interestingly, about 40% of our parents participate. Using simple math, if 100% of parents participated, we could fund our entire year of programming and eliminate all other fundraisers!

So, the PFC is asking each of you to contribute $180 per student for the year. We recognize that not all parents have that much money to give, especially those with multiple children. So, give what you can! Together, we always figure out a way to keep our important educational programs solvent.

The MDE Education Fund is the primary source of PFC funding. 100% of this direct, cash donation goes to programs that benefit ALL students. As the PFC is a 501(c)3, your donation is likely tax deductible.

Corporate matching doubles your donation to the MDE Education Fund.

For example, your donation of $180 becomes a $360 donation!

Contact your Human Resources Department

Ask your Human Resources Department for a Matching Gift form (many can be obtained online) and complete your portion. At Prep Day, include the completed Matching Gift form with your MDE Education Fund form (at right), or bring the two forms to the school office — at any time during the year. Be sure to complete the employer information on the MDE Education Fund form.

United Way

United Way of The Bay Area provides financial support through the Annual Workplace Campaign. This program allows employees to direct their United Way contribution to the nonprofit organization of their choice. Please indicate that you would like your contributions given directly to the Mt.Diablo Elementary PFC, 5880 Mt. Zion Drive, Clayton 94517.
