The Public Information Division in collaboration with the Publications Division maintains a professional format standard throughout public communications, media relations, community affairs and any other forum of communicating to the public. The Public Information Division is charged with the strategic progress of educating the public on important safety initiatives to help them improve community policing to include providing the community with transparency on critical incidents.
The division is also charged with providing professional development training and education to the department in efforts to enhance the profession.
The Mountain View Public Information Officer (PIO) works closely with the Publications Division to perform difficult professional and administrative work planning, organizing, developing and implementing communication actions, activities and messaging though social media, website content, and other digital and traditional marketing, advertising and public relations platforms.
