Mostafa El‑Khamy holds a PhD and MSc from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), MSc and BSc degrees from Alexandria University, and an MBA from the Edinburgh Business School. He has made significant contributions to artificial intelligence, machine learning, multimedia signal processing, wireless communications, and channel coding, with many of his innovations deployed in commercial products used worldwide.
He is a Senior Principal Engineer at Samsung Device Solutions Research America, Samsung Semiconductor, Inc., and an Adjunct Professor at Alexandria University. He serves as Co‑Chair of the MLPerf Mobile Working Group at MLCommons, where he was a founding member and plays a key role in shaping global standards for AI benchmarking. His career includes impactful research roles at Qualcomm R&D and service as a founding faculty member of the Egypt‑Japan University of Science and Technology (E‑JUST).
Dr. El‑Khamy has authored 100+ peer‑reviewed publications and is the inventor of 100+ granted patents. His work has earned multiple honors, including the URSI Young Scientist Award, the Caltech Atwood Fellowship, the Alexandria University Scientific Incentive Award, the Samsung Best Paper Award, and the Samsung Distinguished Inventor Award.
