Jackson County Indiana Court records; 26 April 1820. A post office was

established at Frishlies Mill (now Rockford) by Congress and they appointed

Jonas Crane as the first postmaster.

At the May term of the Board of Commissioners, 1818, Jonas Crane was

licensed to keep tavern at a "County Stand." Noted in the Seymour Weekley

Times. Jackson County Indiana.
