Your sanitary landfill project must meet all of the requirements but here is a small list.
Also, each student will do their own. You may have very similar materials and data but all other work must be unique.
Does your lab have the following?
- Title - Make it sound like an appropriate science paper title please.
- purpose/introduction- Do not include metaphor, simile, or any other literary devices. Keep it concise.
- define the purpose of the project with background information
- explain the significance - how does this relate to APES
- what is the goal of the project?
- Do not excede 1/2 page please.
- hypothesis- what did you expect to find when you dismantled the project? This is your prediction of how the trash would break down and what would happen to the different trash items.
- materials
- method/procedure - in a narrative format, explain the steps you used to make this project in your own words. Do this in a stepped format. - data/results - You must include
- observed data - written
- pictures
- aquifer condition (clarity, stuff growing, smell, color)
- Conclusion/Reflection - see conclusion page. Be very detailed. Use specific examples and specific problems. Do not be overgeneral. for example: People will get sick. (too general).
- Extension - This is simple to do but often overlooked. Please be very descriptive of your plan. Include how it will be funded and any obstacles that might be present.
- Resources: list at least 3 resources you used for information. It must be in APA,

- 12 pt font
- tenses should align
- follow the order of the sections above
- be concise (direct worded)
- DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT!!!! put yourself in the lab write up. Explain what you did but do not use "WE" or "I". CORRECT- A layer of geotextile was placed in the bottle above the dead flies. INCORRECT- I put a geotextile layer... or We put a piece of geotextile.....
Due Friday january 24th by 8pm. If you don't have it in by 8:00, then just go to sleep and turn it in the next day and it will lose 25%.If you require an extension, ask in advance. Asking me close to the due date will get you an answer of NO! This lab is worth 40 points in the frq/test category. That is a lot!
