There is a pretest every Monday and the tests are on Fridays. The

important thing is that you learn your words every week, but more importantly, is that there is improvement from the Monday test to the Friday test. Try your best!

Memory verse - our Bible memory verses is Hebrews 11:1

Monday - join us for morning announcements at 8:30, on Teams.

  • Spelling - we will do our pretests and then you can mark and correct them. There will be a test on Friday.

  • PE - click on the link for a dance workout, or go outside and be active.

  • Math - make sure you finished p. 90-95 in your Math Practice book, including Stretch Your Thinking.

  • Lesson 11 Equivalent Decimals Watch the teaching video linked to the home page of Teams. Use p. 203-204 in your textbook for an explanation of the Math thinking, do #1,3,4, and 5 if you need more practice, and do p. 96-97 in your Math Practice and Homework book.

  • Meet on Teams at 12:00.

  • French - Use the power point lesson on Une famille to learn some French this week. It is linked to the home page. If you click on the icon of the speaker it will read the slide to you. Do the assignment at the end.

  • Social Studies - Use the Buffalo handout (Every Part of the Buffalo was Used), p. 176-177 in the textbook, and the link here to learn about the Blackfoot people's relationship to the land and the buffalo. This link will take you to the Glenbow Virtual Museum website. Do the Pause questions (p. 177 in the SS textbook). Write your answers on the back of the Buffalo handout.

Tuesday- join us for morning announcements at 8:30, on Teams.

    • Bible - Lesson 4 Living by Faith Follow the instructions on p.72 in your Bible Activity book. Read or watch about Hudson Taylor, an example of living by faith. Fill in the blanks on the sticky notes on p. 72 of your workbook and solve the puzzle.

  • Math - Adding Decimals to Tenths Use pages 205-208 in the Math textbook to learn about adding decimals to tenths. Watch the video linked to our Teams home page for more teaching. Do Practice questions #1, 2, 4, 7 and 10 on p. 207-208 for practice and then do p. 98-99 in your Math Homework/Practice book.

  • LA - Would You Rather... writing Follow the instructions on the power point slides. Also, keep reading the genres and climbing the mountains.

  • PE - use the link posted for PE yesterday to dance up a storm, or get outside and run, jump, walk, skip, and move for at least 30 minutes.

  • Meet on Teams at 12:00.

  • Social Studies - Why are there many different Aboriginal languages in Alberta? Use the map of the regions of Alberta inside the cover of your SS textbook and think about how different regions would have words specific to the region. For example, the First Nations people would have words for "mountains", "canyons", "hot springs", "coal", "grizzly bears" if they lived in the Rocky Mountain region. Of course, an Indigenous name for "grizzly bears" may be the same, or similar, in all the regions. Read p. 180 in your SS textbook and answer the Pause questions (write your answers on some lined paper or on the back of your Words for Basic Needs handout). Do the Words for Basic Needs handout. Keep all your work in your plastic folder. Now, predict why the Bow River got it's name. Read the top of p. 181 in the textbook to see if your were right.

  • Science - Use the handout in Class Notebook, in Content Library, to draw and label diagrams that shows the class of lever shown by the object in the picture. Keep your work in your folder.

  • Meet on Teams at 2:45.

Wednesday- join us for morning announcements at 8:30, on Teams.

  • Bible - work on memory verses. If you don't have your memory verse sheets at home (you can't find them) then go to What's Up In... on this website and click on Bible. There are pjegs (pictures) to click on for each sheet of our Bible verses. I can tell you which verses you are missing if you ask me on Chat or during class.

  • French - finish up the Une famille assignment from Monday and/or use Duolingo to learn more French nouns.

    • Math - Lesson 13 Subtracting Decimals to Tenths Use pages 209-211 in the Math textbook to learn about adding decimals to tenths. Watch the same video linked to our Teams home page from yesterday. Do Practice questions #1, 2, 3, 4, and 7 on p. 211 for practice and then do p. 100-101 in your Math Homework/Practice book.

  • LA - read, read, read

  • Computers - today practice Spelling words using Word Art and Spelling City. Those in the 15 words group can make a Word Art as well if you'd like to try it. Go on Mathletics and do at least 3 new gold bars in fractions and decimals if you haven't completed them already.

  • Meet on Teams at 12:00.

  • Social Studies - let's start learning about the Fur Trade and answer this question: How was the fur trade important? Read p. 194 to 197 to help you answer this question. The Hudson's Bay Company and the North West Company were very important during the fur trade. Why? How? Write your answers/thoughts on lined paper and keep it in your folder. Make a Word Art (like you do for spelling) of important words/ideas from the fur trade. Words like beaver, furs, fashion, hats, forts, and many more words that you pick. Let's show our Word Art to the class tomorrow.

  • Science - What is mechanical advantage? Watch the video linked to the Teams home page to find out.

  • Meet on Teams at 2:45.

Thursday- join us for morning announcements at 8:30, on Teams. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SOPHIE!

  • Bible - work on memory verses. Try and get them done in the next 2 weeks. I need to tell Mrs. Hardy who will get their memory verse plaque, so get them done.

    • Math - Lesson 14 Adding and Subtracting Decimals to Hundredths Use pages 212-215 in the Math textbook to learn about adding and subtracting decimals to hundredths. For review watch the same video linked to our Teams home page from yesterday. Do Practice questions # 2, 3, 4, and 9 on p. 214-215 for practice and then do p. 102-103 in your Math Homework/Practice book.

  • LA - Writing - Use the link posted on the home page for instructions for some "How To" writing.

  • PE - Let's do a Scavenger Hunt for movement and fun. We will do this together as a class on Teams at 12:00.

  • Meet on Teams at 12:00.

  • Library - listen to Mrs. Calvin read The One and Only Bob from where you left off.

  • Science - test if we aren't coming back on May 26th. If we are back on the 26th, we'll do our Science test in class.

  • Meet on Teams at 2:45.

Friday- join us for morning announcements at 8:30, on Teams.

  • Spelling test at 11:45? Can we start at 11:45 today, instead of 12:00? Let me know.

  • Science - STEM Challenge - Design several ramps to make a toy car travel slow, slower, and slowest. The materials you need are: toy car, cardboard ramps, sandpaper, rubbery shelf liner, play dough, and yarn. If you have trouble there are some clues in Class Notebook in Content Library.

  • Art - use the link to make a paper slinky, or pick a drawing that you can do from Art Projects for Kids.
