PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
While some sites require an appointment, others serve clients on a "Walk-In" basis (first come, first served).
a) For sites that require appointments, information on how to make the appointment is noted in the schedule
b) On occasion, walk-In sites may stop accepting clients prior to closing time in order to be able to complete that day's
returns. Please plan accordingly.
All Site Operating Schedules are subject to change without notice due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., weather, etc).
AARP and/or the hosting site may require taxpayers and volunteers to wear protective face masks. Please be fully vaccinated.
YOU MUST PREPARE IN ADVANCE OF YOUR VISIT
See REQUIREMENTS BEFORE COMING TO THE SITE
If you are MARRIED FILING JOINTLY, both spouses SHOULD be present. Regardless, however, BOTH spouses are required to sign their joint return, although not necessarily simultaneously.
Upon arrival at Monmouth Tax Aide, you will be required to complete an Intake Questionnaire.
[By-Appointment sites may make this questionnaire available in advance or on-line.]
VOLUNTEERS WELCOME
Tax-Aide needs your help. We have many different volunteer positions in addition to Tax Counselor. These other positions do not require in-depth knowledge of tax law. Training is provided. If you think you might be interested, for more information go to:

*NEW*
AARP Property Tax-Aide (PTA): Separate from Tax-Aide, this program runs year-round, not just during the tax season. NJ has six property tax relief programs including the newest ANCHOR program. Some of these programs apply to renters as well as homeowners. They are available even if your income is below the income filing threshold and you do not file a NJ income tax return. The NJ state component of this multi-state program has recently been added. The primary mode of assistance is via telephone and not in-person.
