Catalog Description:
The course focuses on the introduction to image processing. Topics covered include digital image fundamentals, image enhancements in spatial domain, image restoration, color image processing, wavelets and multiresolution, image compression, morphological image processing, image segmentation, pattern recognition, and simulation \& analysis of systems with programming tools.

Homework assignments will be given to students to help them understand digital image processing concepts, and gain hands on programming skills to develop systems for processing and understand image data. Students should complete their assignments individually. Homework will be due in class on the designated date. No late homework will be accepted unless prior notification and arrangements are made.
Project Assignments [pdf]:
The course will have an open ended individual project assignments. The topics will be posted by the instructor and each student is required to demonstrate the project and submit a project report.
