About Me

In 2023, I got promoted to a Professor of Software Engineering and Research Professor at A2I2 at Deakin University, Australia. Previously, I worked as the Associate Head of School for Industry Research and director of Deakin LaunchPad for Applied IT Research. I have been in software industry and academia for two decades. I became a full academic in 2015, and since then, I have attracted more than $10M in funding from ARC, industry & defence.

I like teaching! I taught almost every computer science and software engineering unit including mathematics, theory and fundamentals, programming, project management, software engineering, security, compilers, distributed systems, and mobile app development. I am actively researching in engineering of secure, reliable, responsive, and smart software systems.

I worked in Industry for more than 10 years, which shaped and sharpened my expertise in software engineering practices, SDLCs and processes. I built lots of systems from small research prototypes to large-scale business systems. I developed a lot f expertise in developing, designing and managing products and teams including ERP & CRM systems.

My research interests include digital health and engineering smart software systems. I have extensive experience in Domain-specific Visual Languages and Model-driven Engineering. I have applied these methodologies in big data applications, health, cyber security, adaptive systems and AI/ML systems.
